Austrian Silverplate, Rock Crystal and Enamel "Rubens" Box, 20th century, of rectangular form, with a stepped base supporting eight lobed enamel panels separated by carved rock crystal twist columns and surmounted by a hinged, molded-edge lid, decorated with images of the works of Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640), including enameled images of "Diana and her Nymphs Surprised by the Fauns" (1638/40), "The Triumphant Entry of Henry IV into Paris" (1627/30), a detail of "Nymphs and Satyrs" (1635), "Perseus Liberating Andromeda" (1639/41), and "Susanna and the Elders" (1636), the lid with a high-relief embossed version of "The Rape of the Daughters of Leucippus" (1618), the interior lid and bottom engraved with a detail of "The Judgement of Paris" (1636/39) and an earlier version of "Susanna and the Elders" (1609/10), respectively, raised on four silverpalte-capped carved rock crystal toupie feet, h. 7", w. 12-1/4", d. 11".
