18th/19th century, the fourth quarter 18th-century bowl decorated in the famille rose palette with mandarin scenes on a mauve diapered ground, the late 19th-century gilt-bronze mounts depicting a pair of naiads on the base, the pierced scrolled handles decorated with putti.

  • Provenance: Villa Melrose Antiques, Los Angeles, California.
  • Condition: **Some of the bronze piercework on the rim had a few tiny casting cracks that have been filled/repaired. A couple of the cracks opened, others with filler have not. Porcelain bowl is intact with some very light rubbing around mounts. Bronze elements are intact, with some minor accretions and wear to gilding in some small areas. In overall good condition.
