Spanish Fruitwood Guard Room Table, 18th century, of traditional form, the rectangular top raised on scrolling lyre-form supports joined by a shaped stretcher and ending in up-scrolled toes, h. 30-1/2", w. 32", l. 72-1/2".

  • Condition: Attractive piece with a handsome patina. It exhibits mars, shrinkage, repairs and other indications of age and use. The top exhibits a tight straight-line shrinkage separation at the point where the two planks that comprise the top are joined. The edges exhibit some gouges, wear, and rounding at the corners. There is some side-to-side wobble if the table is shaken firmly. It seems sufficiently stable for use as is. The legs on one end exhibit indications of repaired breaks near the juncture with the stretcher that joins them.
