The technician's report reads as follows:
"Object: Steinway Model M grand piano
    Serial No.: 345373
    Date of Mfg.: 1954
This is a 5' 8" American grand piano in satin ebony finish. It is in good shape for a used piano and shows normal signs of reasonable use over the years. The action appears to be original and shows no signs of corrosion or verdigris in the action centers. The hammers are grooved and the felt has hardened with age. They appear to have been reshaped in the past and there is very little felt left in the high treble. The hammer wear gives it a fairly bright tone. It plays smoothly and consistently but could use some attention to the regulation.
The soundboard, bridges, and pinblock are solid with no apparent problems. The tuning pins are tight. It tunes well and stays at pitch.
The pedals work correctly. The damper felt is worn but still functional."
