  • Condition: **The piano workings evaluated by David Doremus at Algiers Piano Works, Ltd. and are as follows (a scanned copy has also been added to the photos for this lot):

"The date of manufacture is 1987. In excellent shape for a used piano, but shows signs of regular use. The hammers are grooved from playing, but not excessively. The action could use normal regulation, hammer filing and voicing but plays smoothly and does not sound overly harsh or bright from wear. All action parts are in good condition. The soundboard has detectable ridges but this is common in compression crowned boards and is not a problem. There are no cracks or rib separations. The bridges are in perfect condition. The turning pins are tight but move smoothly. The keytops are in very nice condition. The pedals operate properly. The piano looks like it was played regularly by a musician as the hammer wear is even from bass to treble, not just in specific keys or middle areas."

The piano case evaluated by New Orleans Auction and is as follows: In fine condition with very minimal wear to the finish, along the edges of the keyboard cover. Light wear to the front corner edges. The inlaid logo along the side of the piano is missing the letter "S" at the end of "SONS".
