Suite of Eight George III Mahogany Dining Chairs, 18th century, in the Hepplewhite taste, consisting of two armchairs and six sidechairs, each with a shield-form back with a pierced splat above the padded seat, raised on tapering square legs joined by an H-form stretcher, h. 38".
- Condition: In good restored and polished condition, exhibiting normal mars, wear, shrinkage, past minor restorations and indications of age and use. Two chairs are slightly loose at the juncture of the stiles and seat rails. One arm is slightly loose at its joint with the stile. One front cross-stretcher on a sidechair is heavily worn, presumably from a heel/foot rubbing on it. The same chair has a loose fold of upholstery that needs to be tacked back down.
