Suite of Eight George III-Style Mahogany Dining Chairs

late 19th/early 20th century, comprised of a pair of armchairs and six side chairs, each with a ribbon back, dished seat and banded legs joined by H-form stretchers, with pegged construction throughout.
h. 39-1/4"

Provenance: Estate of Elizabeth "Betsy" Parish, Houston, Texas.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition, exhibiting normal mars, wear, dings, abrasions and indications of age and use. There appears to be some light sun-bleaching to some wood elements.

All are sturdy and solid. No breaks or repairs to legs are apparent. There is a very small amount of movement in two side chairs at the joint where the stiles meet rails. They appear to be more than adequately sturdy as-is.

The upholstery is in good condition. It retains its shape, with no rips or tears observed. There are several scattered small stains.
