Suite of Twelve George III-Style Mahogany Dining Chairs, early 20th century, in the Chippendale taste, comprised of two armchairs and ten sidechairs, each with a shaped and earred foliate-carved crest above a pierced splat, the padded seat raised on cabriole legs headed by foliate shield carving and ending in ball-and-claw feet, period construction with mortised and pegged joints, h. 38".


  • Condition: All are in fine, sturdy condition. A few have minor shrinkage to their back splats. Some light dings to the front of the back posts from years of pressing against the table edge. No sign of any damage or repairs. Beautifully carved with great detailing. Rich dark surface with good patina. Generous proportions.
