Twelve-Piece Limoges, France, Porcelain Fish Service, ca. 1900, including a platter and eleven plates, with ruffled and scalloped gilt rims issuing flowering plants, the center reserves each exhibiting a single hand-painted fish, signed "Tehan", all bearing the green L. & E. Coiffe and red Lazarus Straus & Sons marks, plate, dia. 9-3/8", platter, w. 10-1/2", l. 24".

  • Condition: In overall very good condition. All pieces exhibit some normal wear to the gilt, most notably along the perimeter edges. There are a few minor scratches in the painting. No indications of use that left knife marks. Platter: There are two edge spots that are slightly rough; they appear to be flakes to the gilt not extending into the porcelain. One is about 1-2 millimeters wide by about a centimeter long, the other about half that length. There is a dark area on the face of the platter that appears to be residual glue from a sticker. Two plates have flakes on the undersides of the rims, not readily visible from the top. One plate with a small triangular chip to the edge, about 1mm by 1mm by 2mm. One plate with a flake to the edge on the top side, about 3/8" by 1/4". One plate with a small flake to the edge, about 2mm by 1mm.
