Two American Tiger Maple Stands

19th century, one with a rectilinear tilt top with shaped corners, on a ring-turned pedestal with tripodal base, h. 26-1/2", w. 23", d. 15-1/2", and the other with a circular dished top affixed to a tripodal stand, h. 27-1/4", dia. 21".

  • Condition: **Both are sturdy, solid and in good refinished and restored condition.

Stand with rectilinear top and rounded corners:
There is a thin splice to the column, just above the ring turning, apparently at a loss due to a knot or blemish in the wood.
There is a splice of newer wood at the tip of one leg where it joins the column.

    Stand with circular top:
There are a few tight shrinkage cracks on the top. They do not extend through the thickness of the wood.
There is a glued splinter to the bottom of the standard, at its joint with one leg.
On the underside of the column, three screws have been added extending at an angle into the legs.
