Two Chinese Carved Rock Crystal Figures, one depicting Shou Lao, the god of longevity, holding a peach and standing adjacent to a recumbent deer holding a lingzhi branch in its mouth, h. 8", w. 5", d. 2-1/2", and the other depicting a recumbent mare and her foal, h. 4-1/4", w. 1-3/4", d. 2-1/2". Provenance: Christie's, The di Portanova Collection, Friday, October 20, 2000; The Flatt Collection.


  • Condition: No visible losses on the the god. On the horses, there are two minute chips to the hooves of the mare and foal. There are also small (barely visible losses) to the tips of one of the foal's ears and one of the mare's ears. A few pressure cracks, inclusions, bubbles and irregularities in color are present on both figures, which is to be expected with rock crystal.
