Two Figures of the Duke of Wellington

including a rare signed Berlin ironwork full-figure example, 19th century, marked underneath: "Devaranne Ac. Kunst a Berlin deponiert", for the foundry owned by Simeon Pierre Devaranne (1789-1859) and marked in script at the rear base edge: "A. Mullar & Co., Edinburgh", after a figure by J.C.W. Kratzenberg (German), h. 8-7/8", w. 3-1/4", d. 3-1/4", together with a patinated bronze bust of the Duke, second quarter 19th century, h. 7-1/2", w. 4-1/2", d. 2-3/4".


  • Condition: **Both in overall good condition with scattered areas of abrading and rubbing to surface. Bust with a few small nicks, including at proper left shoulder truncation and edges of self-base. Standing figure with drill hole at bottom center of cloak and some slight oxidation.
