Two George III Mahogany Armchairs

late 18th century, one with a shaped and earred foliate- and wheat-sheaf-carved crest over a pierced fan-form splat, joined by molded arms to the padded seat, raised above a blind-fret arch-carved apron on fret-carved square legs, the other with a shaped and earred foliate crest over a pierced splat, joined by molded arms to the padded seat, raised on chamfered square legs joined by an H-form stretcher.
h. 27-1/2" and 39"

  • Condition: **Both are in good, sturdy condition. One has old repairs to the front joints where the legs join the front apron. Light wear to the armrests from age and use. The chair with the needlework seat probably needs to be re-webbed. Good, rich color and patina to both.
