Two Louis XVI-Style Giltwood Bergeres avec Orielles, late 19th century, each with a trisected padded back surmounted by a carved crest and joined by padded arms to the cushioned seat, raised on fluted tapering circular legs ending in pad feet, one with a guilloche-carved frame, h. 44-1/2", and the other with bellflower accents, h. 43".


  • Condition: Each chair has looseness at joints and need to be re-glued. The chair with the gold cover has scattered minor losses to the gilt surface and some areas on the rear of the wing with total gilt loss. The chair covered in green has scattered gilt loss with heavier loss on the crest. The upholstery on each is old, with surface grime, stains and on green example, splits.
