Unusual Continental Carved Walnut and Engraved Amber Glass Cave a Liqueur

fourth quarter 19th century, with Black Forest-style carving, the top and doors carved with game birds, on a stippled ground carved with ivy, fitted with a trio of engraved amber liqueur bottles and six glasses.

Provenance: The Estate of Mary Elizabeth Little McDannald Detrick (1913-2000), Houston, Texas, wife of Robert Morris McDannald (1914-1967), by descent to their son, Robert Morris McDannald, Jr. (R. M. McDannald, Jr. is grandson of Arthur Thomas MacDannald (1887-1962), whose extensive collection of Native American and Western Art was bequeathed to the Museum of Natural Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston).
