Unusual Group of Three Photographs

including a portrait of a prostitute and a soldier outside a French brothel, ca. 1915, silver gelatin print, titled on mount backing "maison close", 9-1/4" x 6-7/8"; a Southern shanty with baby dolls and chickens, silver gelatin print, ca. 1915-1945, 9-1/4" x 6-7/8"; and a view of City Park, New Orleans, liquid light emulsion print, ca. 1985-2000, localized and signed "M. David" lower margin, 11" x 14".
The first two prints are mounted, the third is mounted and matted. All three are unframed.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition. The photograph of the shanty is laid down on mat board, and there is a small stain in the sky above the roof. The photograph of the prostitute is partially affixed/laid down on mat board, and there is faint abrading to the left and lower left edges of both photographs. The photograph of City Park has a tiny crease in the right margin, and there is some very light buckling to the upper center, which is probably a flaw innate to the photographic process. The photograph is also probably a platinum palladium print, not a liquid light emulsion, although the two processes produce similar effects.
