Victorian Brass Lectern

late 19th/early 20th century, the top modeled as an eagle with its wings spread, its talons perched on a sphere, on a segmented columnar stand with stepped base.
h. 78-1/4", w. 24", d. 21"

Provenance: The Estate of Donald J. Hurst, Waterloo, Iowa.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition. The piece exhibits normal rubbing and wear to the lacquered surface with some scattered minor oxidation.

    Sturdy and stable.

The "shelf" that the documents rest on is slightly twisted such that if the securing screws are over-tightened it wants to cant upward. The element appears to be original.
