Victorian Circassian Walnut Burl Canterbury

third quarter 19th century, of ovoid form, the top rail with contrasting line stringing, above a segmented interior over a frieze drawer.
h. 18-1/4", w. 25-1/2", d. 18-1/8"

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition, exhibiting normal minor mars, wear, shrinkage and indications of age and use.

Tight and sturdy. There is no movement in the joint of the legs to the case.

One top finial appears to have been replaced.

There is a detached piece of the fretwork side panel, at a lower corner, that is present but needs to be glued back on.

NOTE: Walnut, not walnut and rosewood. The side panels appear to be rosewood, but the finish makes the grain and wood difficult to identify.
