Victorian Silverplate and Mother-of-Pearl Cased Dessert Set

late 19th century (the sterling ferrules hallmarked 1897-1898), Sheffield, by John Sanderson, including twelve four-tined forks and twelve scimirat-bladed knives, decorated with wrigglework scrolls, with rococo sterling ferrules and spatulate mother-of-pearl handles, presnted in the original fitted, green ruched satin- and velvet-lined mahogany and satinwood case

  • Condition: In overall very good condition; all blades/tines are securely seated and no chips, breaks or repairs on the handles. Blades/tines bright and clean; probably re-plated at some point. Case good, with some minor exterior scuffs and some losses to the interior velvet at the points of contact.
