Victorian Silverplate Hot Water Urn

  • Condition: Overall Condition: Good. Light surface wear consistent with age. The tap has lead solder where it attached to the body on both the inside and outside, but is fairly inconspicuous on the exterior. Not tested for water fastness. One retaining bolt of the branch lacking. The spherical finial has a 1/2" vertical crack at the bottom, with two similar smaller 1/4" cracks opposing; these may be thermal fractures as they are located directly above the steam vents. There are three small rough spots on the lid suggesting it has been re-silvered. Silvering on the body is quite good, with traces of copper bleed-through on the highest points of relief. Burner cap lacking. No marks. An attractive decorative piece.
