Victorian Teakwood Campaign Chest, late 19th century, in two parts, the upper section fitted with two short drawers over two long drawers, the lower section fitted with two long drawers, all with recessed wooden pulls and brass banding, the sides with carrying handles, h. 35-1/4", w. 35-1/2", d. 18".


  • Condition: In overall good condition, exhibiting normal minor rubbing, wear and indications of age and use, most notably areas of lifting to the finish on the top. Drawers open and close smoothly. The underside of the base section exhibits four square shadows indicating it was probably fitted with feet. The top of the lower section of the chest is stenciled: "No 16 Sir V. Stonehouse Passenger Per Nile. London Cabin No. 1".
