William IV Bronze Dore et Patine Chenets with Integral Adjustable Fender

second quarter 19th century, English, each chenet with a lion attacking a snake, supported on a bombe plinth decorated with molded scrollwork, the center rod with molded lotus leaves.

  • Condition: **There is a dent to the front right bottom corner and side edge of the right plinth. The snake on the left plinth is lacking its tongue. There are scattered nicks, scratches and accretions to patination on pole and to fender - all of which are to be expected with age and use.

    NOTE: The maximum length of the chenets with adjustable fender is 60" (NOT 64" as stated in the print and earlier online catalogues); the minimum length is 48".
