William IV Mahogany Butler's Chest

mid-19th century, the rectangular top with projecting ends, above a conforming case fitted with a drop-front drawer, opening to a variety of drawers and cubbyholes, flanked to either side by acanthine-carved scrolling uprights, raised on a plinth base.

  • Condition: **In overall good condition, exhibiting normal rubbing, wear and indications of age and use. Dirty about the base. Some scratches to the sides of the case.

    The case is tight and sturdy.

    The escutcheon for the top drawer is detached but present. Retains drawer lock and keys. Cupboard door lock is missing.

    The vertical moldings on either side of the drawer face are loose.
