William IV Mahogany Dining Table second quarter 19th century, the circular top supported by a reeded baluster-form pedestal with scroll supports at each corner, on a concave base on carved paw feet, the top opening to accommodate leaves, h. 28-1/2", dia. 53-1/2".

  • Condition: The finish appears to be an over-coated old finish, or a fairly recent (past 20 years) refinish. It exhibits nominal marks, abrasions and indications of age and use, most notably old dings about the edges of the feet. The lower shelf of the table exhibits a couple straight-line veneer tears on its vertical edge, probably over shrinkage at the joints of underlying boards. There are a couple veneer losses to the lower edge, the largest about 1" wide. Two skirted leaves accompany the table; each is 21-1/2" wide. Both appear to be of later manufacture.
