William IV Mahogany Linen Press, second quarter 19th century, the molded cornice above two paneled doors, opening to pull-out shelves, the lower section fitted with two short drawers over two graduated long drawers, raised on large bulbous feet, h. 82", w. 48-1/2", d. 21".
- Condition: Various stress cracks to veneer along edge of chest top. Molding above drawers loose. Minor surface scratches throughout. Bottom drawer lacking escutcheon. A couple 3" dings under bottom drawer. Retaining its original locks. The interior of the top cabinet fitted with four sliding shelves. All drawers move well. The inset panel of the right door a little out of the frame.
