  • Condition: **Technician's report:
    "Object: Knabe Grand Piano
    Serial No: 19933
    Date of manufacturing: c. 1880
This is a 7' American grand piano in natural wood finish. The original rocker style action has been replaced with modern capstans and a Renner action. It plays well. The damper action is original, felt has been replaced and it is fully functional.
The soundboard, bridges, and pinblock are solid. The soundboard has been repaired with what appears to be an epoxy filler in the cracks and the whole thing painted to give an even appearance. The bridges have been cleaned, graphited, and repinned. The pins were left untrimmed. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect their function.
It has been restrung. One tuning pin on B flat 3 has been stripped, possibly due to mishandling by a tuner. It is very close to a plate strut and will need to be replaced and tuned with a tip that will clear the plate.
The pedals operate properly. There are only two as this was made before the sostenuto pedal was considered essential.
The ivory keytops have been replaced with plastic."

    NOAG report:
"In professionally restored and refinished condition. The lid is severely sun bleached; there is a distinct shadow line where the lid folds back. The left side of the case is also slightly faded."
