Cased French Silver Carving and Salad Serving Set

fourth quarter 19th century, Paris, by Henri Soufflot (fl. 1884-1910), first standard (.950) silver, indluding a carving fork, l. 11-1/4", and knife, l. 13", with steel fittings, and a salad serving fork, l. 11", and spoon, l. 11" with bone fittings, each with a silver handle of concave hexagonal sectgion, decorated with guilloche and bellflower panels, with imbricate ferrule and finial, presented in a blue satin- and velvet-lined case , the lid monogrammed "GD", 1-1/2" x 14-1/4" x 6-1/2".


  • Condition: In good condition, with no issues noted beyond some wear consistent with age and use. All fittings tight and secure. The case has a severa; scuffs and scratches on the exterior, wtih some wear to the wood at some sharp edges; the locking hasp closures secure and functional. Some wear and minor soiling to the interior, with some tears in the velvet where the hilts rest.
