Chinese Inlaid Lacquer Six-Panel Floor Screen

second half 20th century, each front-facing panel with three sections, the larger central section decorated with figures at leisure, with auspicious objects above and birds amid foliage below, all depicted in jades and various other hardstones, the reverse with a design of fluid gilt floral sprays, raised on capped cloisonne feet.

  • Condition: Overall excellent condition.
    Very minor scuffs / dings to edges.
    All carved decorative elements good and in place,
    Deux-colour gilt designs generally good with little or no rubbing.
    Cloisonne feet good.
    This screen was displayed on the wall in the Bailey home.
    Hinges present but were apparently rarely, if ever used.
