Continental Mahogany Pier Mirror in the Rococo Revival Taste

in two parts, the mirror with an arched plate in a frame with a pierced fruit-, leaf- and line-carved crest, the molded frame flanked by fluted and foliate-carved columns, on a console base with a marble top and like columns.

Provenance: The Estate of Donald J. Hurst, Waterloo, Iowa.


  • Condition: **In very good condition. There is a small chip from the tip of the top leaf in the center of the crest. The front apron under the marble has two small veneer chips. The marble appears original with some surface scratches and old stains. There is one small underside chip to the front edge. We date this piece 1855-1865.
