French Restauration Silver Sugar Urn

Paris, 1819-1838, by Jean Pierre Nicolas Bibron (ca 1761-1841), first standard (.950) silver, the urn form body with milled thyrsus and openwork vintage banding, with four embossed vasiform uprights crested by swans, with arched scrolled handles and raised above a plinth base en suite on lion's paw feet, the fitted lid en suite opening to a colorless glass interior.

  • Condition: Repair at the center and top of one upright, and where the handle attaches on another. Otherwise in very good condition with some minor dents among the fine openwork but no breaks or losses noted. Glass in good condition with a broken pontil but no other cracks or chips.
