French Restauration Silver Moutardier

1819-1838, Paris, by Quentin Baschelet, first standard (.950) silver, the open urn-form silver frame with palmette uprights and cournucopia handles, with gadrooned rim and openwork base, raised on an addorsed dolphin standared above a circular plinth base and scrolling feet, the hinged gadrooned lid with bud finial opening to the cobalt glass liner, together with a later French mustard spoon.

  • Condition: The rear two feet are slightly dented, but otherwise in good condition; no breaks, tears, losses or repairs noted. A few light scratches on the glass, but no cracks or chips. Spoon good.
