George III Fruitwood Chest, late 18th century, the top with a cross-banded perimeter, the case with a bank of four drawers with banded edges, raised on bracket feet, h. 37", w. 41", d. 18".

  • Condition: In good polished and restored condition, exhibiting normal wear, rubbing and shrinkage consistent with age and use. The case appears to be solid and tight. The drawers retain old locks and replaced pulls. There is evidence of past repairs to the drawer bottoms at the runners. The drawers bind slightly when opened and closed. It appears some wax to the runners will rectify that. The bracket feet may be later replacements.
