George III Mahogany Draughtsman's Table, fourth quarter 18th century, the rectangular top above a conforming frieze fitted with a drop-front drawer opening to a central hinged book rest and various drawers and cubbyholes, each side fitted with a brass handle, raised on tapering square legs ending in spade feet on casters, the whole accented with line inlays, h. 36", w. 49", d. 27-1/2". Provenance: The Estate of James C. Westerfield, Jackson, Mississippi.


  • Condition: In good condition structurally with intact surface. The top has a few minor scattered dents and stains commensurate with 200 years of wear. The smaller drawers are missing dividers, the fitted upper section is intact, complete, and in very good condition. The lock is signed by esteemed Bramah lock company of London. NOTE: The description should read fourth quarter 18th century, not 19th century.
