George III Mahogany Settee, fourth quarter 18th century, in the Adam taste, the triple shield back with Prince of Wales feather splats and joined by acanthine- and bellflower-carved arms to the padded seat, raised on tapering square legs ending in spade feet, h. 38", w. 60", d. 21". Provenance: The Estate of Elaine Smith Frost White, Houston, Texas and East Hampton, New York.


  • Condition: Structurally sound and with clean upholstery in very good condition. Some wear to chair backs where they have rubbed the wall. The brackets at the corners of the legs were added for stability. Minor losses on edges of the spade feet, which were cut from the whole leg. Some minor damage to the finish on the back legs.
