Good Victorian Elkington Sterling Silver and Cut Glass Claret Jug

hallmarked Birmingham, 1890-1891, the tapering cylindrical glass body cut in an allover cross-cut diamond pattern with up-pulled handle, clad in a sterling silver collar with gadrooned spout, hinged, domed lid and floriform finial, decorated with putti, fauna and floral scrolls, the base with silver mount en suite, the lid with applied conjoined monogram "PUD".

  • Condition: **In good condition. The lid has a tiny puncture, about 1/8" diameter, but no other dents or breaks noted. The glass in good condition with no breaks, chips or cracks noted. The collar fully hallmarked; the lid, finial and base part-marked.
