Gorham Neo-Grec Sterling Silver Fruit Bowl

third quarter 19th century, Providence, Rhode Island, of shallow saucer form with milled ovolo rim and opposing handles, each of rectagular-projecting circular form with cast rinceaux and female classical medalion bust, the whole raised on a squat pedestal foot.
h. 3-7/8", dia. 10-1/2", w. 12-1/2"; 32.57 t. oz.


  • Condition: A few minor nicks, bruises and scuffs consistent with age and use, and the slightest hint of compression dent where the foot meets the bowl, but in otherwise quite good condition. No breaks, large dents or repairs. Nice details. Marked on the underside with the Gorham "lion-anchor-G" trademark and pattern number "270", also "Sterling" (this latter possibly a later addition).
