Late Victorian Sterling Silver Tea Tray

hallmarked London, 1897-1898, by Gibson & Langman (Goldsmiths' & Silversmiths' Co. Ltd.), of navette form with upswept ends, with pierced foliate and quatrefoil sides, gadrooned rim and integral handles.

  • Condition: **In overall good condition. Some light scratches to the plateau, and general surface scuffs and dings consistent with age. No dents, breaks or repairs. No losses to the galleried frame. Hallmarked (on the basal edge) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London leopard's head; 3) the date letter "b" for 1897-1898; and 4) the "WG/JL" maker's mark of Gibson & Langham (overstriking another mark, probably that of Charles Stuart Harris). The underside part-marked and additionally stamped "Goldsmith's Company / 112 Regent Street".
