Magnificent English Regency Bronze Chandelier

second quarter 19th century, attributed to Thomas Messenger & Sons, Birmingham and London, the fifteen-light chandelier with graduated swags of flowers, masques and molded acanthus leaves supporting the body set with five three-light arms, dovetailed into the body, the arms molded with scrollwork and acanthus leaves supporting leaf-molded candle arms, set with tulip-form candle cups, the tapered lower portion of the body decorated with beading, scrolled shell mounts and a leaf-molded finial.

  • Condition: **In fine condition. No sign of damage, repairs or missing elements. Beautifully cast with great detail. Retains a very pleasing overall patina. Professionally wired for electricity. The arms on this fixture are easily removable from the central hub, as they slide into a dovetailed joint. The wiring would still need to be disconnected from each arm.
    Approx. weight 200 pounds.
