Rare English Regency Bronze Chandelier

second quarter 19th century, in the manner of Thomas Messenger & Sons or a contemporary of equal rank, the fifteen-light chandelier with a standard decorated with Bacchanalian busts, pierced scrollwork and masques, supporting swags of flowers, the body decorated with masques alternating with acanthus leaf-molded and scrolled arms, each supporting leaf-molded branches set with tulip-form candle cups, the bottom with bas-relief scrollwork and a lotus-molded finial.

  • Condition: **In fine condition. No sign of damage, repairs or missing elements. Beautifully cast with great detail. Retains a very pleasing overall patina. Professionally wired for electricity.
    The arms on this fixture do not remove the way as lot 220.
