Pair of Exceptional French Marble, Gilt-Bronze and Cloisonne Enamel Garniture Urns third quarter 19th century, in the Aesthetic taste, the marble urns with gilt fittings, including handles terminating in swan's heads, above marble bases mounted with cloisonne plaques of mauve anthemions on a yellow ground, raised on bronze scroll feet, h. 19-1/2", w. 5-1/2", d. 5-1/2".


  • Condition: Each urn was previously mounted as a lamp, and the caps and finials were added when the urns were de-lamped. One urn has a chip to a corner of the base, a flake to the center, and a small chip to the left edge. The other urn has a superficial flake to the center of the base, and a surface flake to the side of the raised marble band holding the enamel ring in place.
