Pair of Louis XV-Style Polychrome Fauteuils, mid-19th century, each with a padded shaped back surmounted by a floral crest, joined by padded scrolling arms to the like seat, raised on molded cabriole legs headed by floral capitals and ending in acanthine toes, upholstered in period tapestry in figural, animal and foliate patterns, h. 38".
- Condition: The frames are in very good overall condition, apparently tight and sturdy, with rubbing throughout to the polychromey creating a nice patina. Norma shrinkage and wear. The upholstery of both chairs is worn, and threadbare at points, most notably the front edge of the seat cushion, and the upper edges of the seat backs. There are some tears in the center of one seat, and a couple to the center of both backls
