Pair of North African Hardwood Armchairs

early 20th century, each of box form, the pierced rectangular crest with an elaborate floral spray splat, joined by flat pierced arms to the padded seat, raised above a pierced apron on square legs, the whole with elaborate mother-of-pearl and bone inlays.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition. Both chairs exhibit some in-filling at inlay losses, rubbing and minor wear.

    One has a couple small triangular losses to the mother-of-pearl on top of the crest rail. The other has filler at several larger losses.

    Some missing triangles of mother-of-pearl on both chairs. Loss and loose veneer on one side apron.

    Both are tight at the legs and glue joints and very sturdy.

    Upholstery in very good condition.
