Pair of North African Hardwood Armchairs

early 20th century, each of box form, the pierced rectangular crest with an elaborate floral spray splat, joined by flat pierced arms to the padded seat, raised above a pierced apron on square legs, the whole with elaborate mother-of-pearl and bone inlays.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition with nominal rubbing, shrinkage and wear.

    Upholstery is in very good, nearly "as new" condition.

    Chair A:
    There is a mother-of-pearl veneer loss on the flat top edge of the crest rail, about 1/8" x 1/8". There are several small areas of filler at past veneer losses.
    There is a chip/flake to the bottom corner of one rear leg. Not enough material is missing to affect its structural integrity.

    Chair B:
    There is a mother-of-pearl veneer loss on the top of the back, about 1/8" x 1/8". There are a few scattered spots of filler at losses, most notably areas of straight horizontal lines on the front seat apron.
