Regency Bronze-Mounted and Ebonized Recamier
first quarter 19th century, the Grecian sofa with a carved back, one end of scroll form and the other of bolster form, on saber legs with cup casters.

Condition: **The ebonized finish has been renewed at some time in the past, and now exhibits mars, dings, scrapes and indications of age and use.
The scroll tips on the taller "arm" have been broken and re-attached.
The front leg on the "low" side has a reglued chip/break at its caster. The rear leg on that side has a repaired break, and the filler at that break has not been ebonized. Both legs on the "high" side have a straight diagonal line at the same height. It is unclear whether it is shrinkage at a lamination of two boards or a professional repair.
Upholstery is in very good condition with some soiling that looks like it should clean off.
