William IV Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy

second quarter 19th century, set with a cove-molded hinged cover, concealing a two-compartment lidded interior, raised on brass ball feet.

  • Condition: **In generally good condition with typical scattered patches and small restorations primarily to the corners, edges and adjacent to one hinge.
    The recessed interior cover and tea compartments retain remnants of old chocolate brown paper. The blond compartment covers each with a surface patch or two, both retaining remnants of paktong lining.
    All of the above consistent with age and use.
