After Leonard Morel-Ladeuil (1820-1888), "Seasons", 1878

fourth quarter 19th century, a silver-plated copper electrotype charger by Elkington & Co., after the 1878 model presented at the Exposition Universelle, Paris, of circular form and inricately modeled, the central vignette depicting a band of putti with attributes of the months, surrounded by a recessed band of addorsed wyverns and the names of the months July through December, with an outer band ov vignettes of maidens with seasonal and astrological attributes.

  • Condition: In overall very good condition, with no issues noted other than some very minor wear to the copper on the highest relief of the putti's curls. The reverse with applied Elkington "E & Co." maker's cartouche.
