Regency Irish Sterling Silver Teapot

hallmarked Dublin, 1813, by "MF", bulbous rounded rectangular form, decorated with pricked ovolo and Greek-key banding, with squared "gooseneck" spout, crested ebonized handle and ball feet, engraved with a crest of a demi-lion rampant.
h. 6-3/4", l. 11", w. 5-1/4"; 20.52 t. oz. (including wooden handle)

  • Condition: **Scattered dings and surface wear consistent with age and use, most notably some bumps on the rounded corners, but otherwise in generally good condition. Some loss to the detail of the pricked decoration. The wooden handle is likely a later replacement. Hallmarked (on the underside) with the sterling harp, the Dublin Hibernia, the George IV bust duty mark, the date letter "R" for 1813, and the unidentified "MK" maker's mark; marks excellent.
