William IV Inlaid Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy
second quarter 20th century, on brass ball feet, the rectangular caddy with cut-cornered sides and a cove-molded cover, the front panel inlaid with mother-of-pearl flowers and trailing foliage, the interior with two foil-lined compartments fitted with tortoiseshell covers.

Condition: **In overall very good condition; tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl inlay are intact. An age crack on the bottom back of the case has been stabilized with a resin, and there are a few professionally done cosmetic repairs to a few corners and inside miters. There are three "flea bite" chips - one to the lid edge, and the other two to the edges on the rear of the case. The interior foil lining exhibits notable flaking/losses, as is to be expected with age and use.
